STRENGTH

(For those who are physically weak)

In 2011,  I fell and broke my hip.   The bones healed nicely and I am up and walking around.  I spent 4 days in bed and a few days in a wheel chair.  After I got up, I was terribly weak.  I needed physical therapy and lots of exercise.

I did not know which verses of the bible applied to this problem so I got my concordance and found the following verses.  Since then, friends of mine have had hospitalization and weakness.  Maybe these verses will help.  I have modernized the language a little bit from the King James text.

Instruction:
Pray the prayers -- out loud.

Prayer.
Psalm 119:28
My soul melts with heaviness:  God strengthen me according to your word.

Instruction:
Claim the promises and receive them.  Say the promise out loud, and then say:  "I receive this promise."

Supporting scripture:
Mark 11:23-24.  For verily I (Jesus) say unto you,  That whosoever shall say unto this mountain,  "Be you removed, and be cast into the sea;  and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he says shall come to pass;  he shall have whatsoever he says."

Therefore I say unto you.  "What things soever you desire, when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you shall have them."

The Lord's Promise.     Psalm 41:3
The Lord will strengthen him upon the bed of languishing.

Personalize it:  Lord strengthen me upon my bed of sickness.

Instruction:
When the Lord commands you to do something, Do what he says.

Command to you from the Lord.  Joel 3:10
Beat your plowshares into swords and your pruning hooks into spears:  Let the weak say I am strong.

Prayer and Obedience.
Say out loud:  "Dear God, in accordance with you word:  I am strong.  I said it and I believe that I am strong because your word says I can have what I say."

Prayer.                Psalm 19:14
Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in your sight, Oh Lord, my strength and my redeemer.

Prayer.                Ephesians 3:16
(God)  grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;

Prayer.                 Nehemiah 6:9
For they all made us afraid, saying, their hands shall be weakened from the work, that it be not done.  Now therefore, Oh God, strengthen my hand.

Prayer                  1 Peter 5:10
But the God of all grace, who has called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that you have suffered a while, make you perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.
