The Scepter of His Kingdom
by Dennis Kelly
Righteousness is the scepter of his (Jesus) kingdom. Hebrews 1:8
Jesus became sin that we might become the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. 2 Corinthians 5:21
What about: There is none righteous, no not one. Romans 3:10. That is talking about being under the law of Moses. Before we got saved, both Jews and Gentiles are found guilty of disobeying the law. All have sinned. But in verse 21 same chapter of Romans, Paul begins to tell of a righteousness apart form the law, that is a gift from God. In Christ Jesus we are made righteous. Righteousness is a gift to all who believe in Jesus. Romans 3:22
Therefore we, who are made righteous, are the Scepter of the Kingdom of Jesus. A Scepter is the symbol of power and authority. We have at our disposal the power and authority of Jesus.
Jesus said: “I have been given all authority in heaven and in earth. Mat 28:18. Therefore, you go and preach the gospel to all nations. Mat 28:19 and teach them everything that I commanded you.” Mat 28:20 Jesus commanded them to heal the sick and preach the gospel. Luke 10:9.
What kind of authority do we have?
John the Baptist was greater than anyone born of a woman up to the time of John the Baptist. Luke 7:28 John was greater than Solomon. Greater than David. Greater than Samuel. God let none of Samuel’s words fall to the ground. 1 Samuel 3:19 Everything he said came true. Just like God.
John was greater than Samuel.
Everyone who is in the kingdom of heaven is greater than John. Luke 7: 28 You are in the household of God Ephesians 2:19 which is in the kingdom of heaven. Words are seeds. Like Samuel every word you say comes true unless, through the mercy of God, you get some failures. You had best be praying for some crop failures.
Words are a creative force. You are made in the image, the exact likeness, of God. God created the world with words. Just like God, what you say is what you get. Don’t say “I’m sick.” If you do, You will be sick. Instead say: “By the stripes of Jesus I am healed.” 1 Peter 2:24.
John the Baptist sent his disciples to Jesus to see if he was the one. Luke 7:19
Jesus said: “Tell John, the blind see, the deaf hear, the lame walk, the poor have the gospel preached to them.” Luke 7:22
These were Jesus’ credentials. That’s how you know that Jesus is here. These miracles take place. You are the scepter of his kingdom. You are the righteousness of God. You represent his power and his authority. You are filed with the Holy Spirit. These signs and wonders should be happening all around you.
You are to know the hope of his calling. Ephesians 1:18 (KJV) Whose hope? Gods hope -- in calling you. God hopes that you will walk in righteousness so that He can express his full power and authority over all the works of the devil.
Jesus came to destroy the works of the Devil. 1 John 3:8 When John the Baptist was murdered, Jesus found a crowd of people and healed all that were sick. Luke14:14 Sickness is the work of the Devil. And Jesus retaliated by destroying his works. You too can destroy the works of the Devil by healing the sick. Jesus commanded: “Go into all the world and heal the sick and preach the gospel.” Luke 10:9.
Do it! Why are you waiting? Get moving! This is the great commission. He said teach them all that I have taught you. Mat 28:20 He taught his disciples to heal the sick and to preach the gospel. The hope of God’s calling is that you will obey the great commission and do what he told you. Go! Preach and heal!
You should walk with impunity before the Devil. The wicked one cannot touch
you. 1 John 5:18
No plague will come near your dwelling. Psalms 91:10 You shall not fear for the destruction that wastes at noon day Psalms 91:6 nor the arrow that flies by day. Psalms 91:6 Thousands may die all around you but it shall not come nigh you. Psalms 91:7
I (Jesus) give you power over all the power of the enemy. Nothing shall by any means harm you. Luke 10:19
You are redeemed from the curse of the law Galatians 3:13 and that curse includes every disaster man made or natural that is or is not written in the book. Deuteronomy 28:61. That includes every disease written or not written in the book. Deuteronomy 28:61.
You are a born again child of the living God. You are a citizen of the kingdom of Jesus. Colossians 1:13 You are a member of the family of God. Galatians 4:6-7
You are the scepter of Jesus Kingdom!
