A COP'S BLESSING

Matthew 5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God.

The police stand guard on the line between good and evil. All that is good is of God.

Peacemakers equals police. By virtue of your profession you are the children of God. If you work within this profession, you are loved by God as a father loves his child. You are protected as a father would protect his child. You are fought for as a father would fight for his child.

The Almighty God, who created the entire universe, claims you as His. There is no authority except that which God has established. Romans 13:1-5. Consequently whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted. Rulers are Godís servants to do you good. But if you do wrong, be afraid for he does not bear the sword for nothing. He is Godís servant and agent of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer.

You claim that you don't believe. God believes in you. You say that you are not a Christian, you are still a child of God. You don't feel anointed, the anointing is there.

You are Blessed!

That blessing extends to your spouse. Genesis 2:24. A man shall cleave to his wife and they shall be one flesh.

The 91st Psalm is explicitly your covering of protection: because of your profession. It is referred to as the Protection Psalm. By reading and claiming the promises of this Psalm many report supernatural protection and help in time of need. It applies to you and to your family.

Psalms 91

He that dwells in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: My God in him will I trust.

Surely he shall deliver me from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisesome pestilence. He shall cover me with his feathers, and under his wings shall I trust: his truth shall be my shield and buckler. I shall not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flies by day. Nor for the pestilence that walks in darkness nor for the destruction that wastes at noonday. A thousand shall fall at my side, and ten thousand at my right hand but it shall not come near me. Only with my eyes shall I see the reward of the wicked.

Because I have made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, my habitation; there shall no evil befall me, neither shall any plague come near my dwelling. For he shall give his angels charge over me to keep me in all my ways. They shall bear me up in their hands, lest I dash my foot against a stone. I shall tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shall I trample under feet.

Because you have set your love upon me, therefore will I deliver you: I will set you on high, because you have known my name. You shall call upon me and I will answer you: I will be with you in trouble; I will deliver you and honor you. With a long life will I satisfy you and show you my salvation.

All Christians should pray for the Police, for the Fire Fighters and for the Emergency Medical Technicians that come to our help. With God they are our first line of defense.
